In a world of extremes: sober months, binge weekends and fad challenges we realised something was missing: balance.
That’s how The MVP, our debut beer, came to life.
From 75 Days Dry to the First Brew
In spring 2024, we (Sam and James, co-founders of GoldenDays Brewery) took on a 75-day challenge: no alcohol, daily exercise, and clean eating. It was rewarding, but it also made us realise that cutting beer out altogether didn’t feel like a long term way to live.
So when we finally cracked open a cold one after a long surf, it wasn’t just refreshing, it felt earned. That one beer hit differently. It stuck with us.
We didn’t want to give up beer. We just wanted it to mean more.
Brewing The MVP: Local Batches, Real Feedback
We started testing recipes with one goal: create a beer that feels as good as it tastes, light, crisp, and seriously refreshing. We brewed it in small batches in Birdham and tested it with friends, family, and locals across The Witterings area.
People kept coming back for more.
That early feedback helped shape what would become The MVP, our 4% tropical session beer brewed for post-effort moments: after a run, surf or a hard day on the grind. We call it an "earned beer" - designed to refresh, not flatten you.
Once the recipe was dialled in, we teamed up with professional brewers to scale it, without compromising what made it great.
